Step 3: Generate your banner code
To display your Flash banner on the web and and "link" it to the advertised web page, you need a specific HTML code. If you have successfully uploaded your banner SWF file to your web server at the previous step , the SWF file now has its own URL (also known as "web address"). For example, if your domain name is "www.example.com", and you put the "demo_banner.swf" file into a directory called "images" on your web server, the SWF file URL will be: "http://www.example.com/images/demo_banner.swf". Use the SWF file URL in the form below to generate your banner HTML code.
Scroll to the top of the page to preview your banner . Using your favorite HTML or simple text editor (such as Windows Notepad), paste the banner code into the HTML source of a web page where you want your banner to appear. Save the page and upload it to your web server. Open the web page with the banner code in your browser to view your Flash banner.
Alternatively, you can use the "quick post" form below to automatically add the banner to various online accounts.
Tips, tricks and questions
• How to change the banner link?
The easiest option: just bookmark this very page in your web browser and use the banner code generator whenever you wish to update your banner link.
Experienced users can also change the banner link at any moment by manually editing the banner code. The banner link "value" is shown in bold red in the code example below. Replace both occurrences of this value with a new link ("click-through URL") for your ad. Do not forget that the click-through URL must begin with "http://"

codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,5,0,175"
width="468" height="60">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.yourwebsite.com/demo_banner.swf" />
<param name=FlashVars value="clickTAG=http://www.example.com " />
<param name="menu" value="false" />
<param name="scale" value="exactfit" />
<embed src="http://www.yourwebsite.com/demo_banner.swf"
FlashVars="clickTAG=http://www.example.com "
width="468" height="60" menu="false" scale="exactfit"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
</object>

• How to use this Flash movie as a web site logo?
You can display your Flash banner as a web site logo or a header image - that is, without the mouseover "hand" cursor. Just leave the "Enter your ad click-through URL:" field in the code generator form empty. Experienced users can deactivate banner link by manually removing the part of the code shown in bold red in the following example.
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"

</object>

• How to resize my banner?
Default size of your Flash banner is 468 x 60 pixels (the Internet
Advertising Bureau standard "Full Banner"). You can change - to some extent - the default width/height by editing the "width " and "height "
values in the banner code (values are expressed in pixels). To avoid graphics distortion, we advise
to keep original 468 x 60 aspect ratio between width and height.
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"
codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,5,0,175"
width="468 " height="60 ">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.yourwebsite.com/demo_banner.swf" />
<param name=FlashVars value="clickTAG=http://www.example.com" />
<param name="menu" value="false" />
<param name="scale" value="exactfit" />
<embed src="http://www.yourwebsite.com/demo_banner.swf"
FlashVars="clickTAG=http://www.example.com"
width="468 " height="60 " menu="false" scale="exactfit"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
</object>
As always, you can use the banner code generator on this page to easily change the size of your banner.
