Why do I need both the HTML code and SWF file to display Flash banner?

The SWF file is a special format of media file by Adobe, which requires a browser plug-in. To let the browser know it should display a Flash file, a special HTML code must be embedded into web page (much like a simple GIF image requires an HTML tag to be displayed). Beside that, the banner code defines your banner dimensions (width and height), custom border around the banner, the banner link ("clickthrough URL") etc. You can preview your banner and generate the required HTML code on your personal download page view demo.
